Collage.com in the Associated Press

We’re proud of the Collage.com customer satisfaction team, which is standing by to help our customers seven days a week – by phone, live chat, Facebook message, and email.

Today, Collage.com was featured in an Associated Press story about how we use chat and Facebook messages to help customers:

At Collage.com, which creates photo books, blankets, calendars and other items using people’s photos, many customers want to use online chat rather than the phone — and that helps the company serve more clients, says marketing director Graham Davis.

“We can do five or six chats at once,” Davis says, whereas staffers can talk to only one customer at a time on the phone and calls can last up to 30 minutes. Collage.com’s live chat volume rose 28 percent from 2014’s fourth quarter, the company’s busiest time of year, to the same period of 2015.

Collage.com honored as one of the 2016 “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch”

LANSING, Mich. – Today, custom photo products company Collage.com was named as one of 2016’s “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch” in recognition of the company’s explosive growth and exciting potential. Hundreds of companies are nominated for this prestigious list each year, which honors companies that are innovative, fast growing, and expected to have a breakout year in 2016.

“Collage.com grew from $900,000 in 2012 revenue to $22 million in 2015 without taking any outside investment – and we’re just getting started,” said Joe Golden, co-founder and co-CEO. “We’re humbled to be named to such a prestigious list and look forward to continued future growth.”

Collage.com makes custom photo products – like photo books, canvases, and fleece photo blankets – easy for anyone to create with powerful online tools and great customer service. The company’s innovative products have been featured multiple times on “Good Morning America,” the “TODAY Show,” and “The View.”

“We’ve come a long way since our beginnings as a University of Michigan project,” said Kevin Borders, co-founder and co-CEO. “We’re honored to be named as one of Michigan’s 50 most exciting companies, and can’t wait to continue our growth in 2016 and beyond.”

The company’s rapid growth has enabled Collage.com to give back to communities across Michigan. This year, Collage.com launched a matching donation campaign to raise funds for the Flint Child Health & Development Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, matching all donations up to a $10,000 cap. In 2015, Collage.com made a $11,500 donation to the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, and donated another $10,885 in products to 96 different nonprofit and school groups around the country.

The “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch” list is named each year by Michigan Celebrates Small Business, a cooperative project by the Edward Lowe Foundation, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Michigan Business Network, Michigan Small Business Development Center, U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Small Business Association of Michigan.  Winners were selected by Michigan-based judges from the banking, economic development, entrepreneurship development, and venture capital communities.

Collage.com will be recognized in Lansing at the 12th annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business gala on May 5, 2016.

Bloggers love Collage.com

You hear a lot from us on this blog, but today, we wanted to showcase what other bloggers have to say about Collage.com. Leading bloggers across the country say Collage.com is a perfect place to customize holiday gifts for your whole family. Here’s why:

Again, if you have never had a gallery wrapped canvas from College.com, you need to order one for the holidays. They are incredibly easy to use and high quality. They even come well packaged so that they’re not damaged when shipped. (Heather, I Am Capturing The Moment)

Because I wanted to compare Collage.com to some other similar brands I have tried, I ordered a few of their products and I can tell you that the shipping was faster than I have ever experienced and the products are such great quality! (Erinn, Parenting Healthy)

One thing I learned is that Elizabeth and any customer service person at Collage.com will make sure you get what you want, a well-created memory from your photos that you will cherish long after you receive them.  Have a question? I could not figure out how to save, or use the edit, I know now and it is easy, because Elizabeth explained it to me. Collage.com knows I am coming back to shop, because I am photo obsessed and so are they! (Dana Vento, Lavishly Living Life Out Loud)

There are so many different gift options available such as Gift Wrap, Ornaments, Canvas, Pillows or even Fleece Blankets. I had the chance to make a fleece blanket and a Canvas. I love how soft the blanket is and I love that I was able to put as many pictures as I did on there. These projects are very easy to make and really enjoyable too. (Nicholle, Chelsea’s Mommy Experiencing New Things Loving Life)

These are just a few of the many, many positive reviews of Collage.com from satisfied customers. We’re proud to be a Google Trusted Store (with a 4.8-star out of 5-star overall rating) and to have won so many customers’ trust. We can’t wait to make your holiday season even better – start creating now

Our fleece photo blankets are a “priceless” gift (from Forbes)

We’re proud to offer more than 50 products, but our favorite – and our customers’ favorite – is still our fleece photo blanket. We’ve sold more than 300,000 fleece photo blankets, and love hearing feedback on how they’re used.

Yesterday, Forbes magazine asked Susan Cartier Liebel, the founder and CEO of Solo Practice University, to “open up her wallet” and describe the last ten things she bought.

Susan recently purchased a Collage.com fleece photo blanket, and called it her favorite recent purchase (“It gave my mother so much joy, it was priceless.”):

My dad passed away this year. Wanting to still celebrate my parents’ anniversary I had a photo collage of their 58 years together imprinted on a large blanket for my mom. Now whenever she feels sad she could wrap herself up in her memories.

We’re honored to play such an important part in our customers’ lives, and absolutely love to hear stories like Susan’s.

Our co-founder on “what really matters about company culture”

Kevin Borders, Collage.comOur co-founder and co-CEO Kevin Borders wrote in MLive today about the “one thing that matters” when it comes to company culture:

I roll my eyes every time I hear that a company is a great place to work “because it has a ping-pong table.”

Sure, it shows that they value employees enough to spend a few hundred bucks on table tennis.

At many companies, though, that ping-pong table comes with a caveat emptor: we expect you to work more here instead of living your life elsewhere. For some this might be OK, but most people would rather skip the office ping-pong game to spend more time with family and friends.

Joe Golden, Collage.com’s other co-founder/co-CEO, wrote in the Detroit Free Press in May about our office-free workplace. We’re proud of our Collage.com company culture, and love to spread the word at every opportunity.
